A typical color consultation...

A typical color consultation begins with a discussion of your project, your ideas and what you want your home or business to feel like...open and airy, warm and cozy, vibrant or serene?   We'll usually walk thru and talk about your color ideas, take a look at the permanent colors in your spaces, and the relationship of the rooms to each other.  I make suggestions of colors, schemes, undertones, and values based upon our discussion and the things I see in the home or business.  You always have the final decision on the color choices.  I will record them on a list and provide a sample card of the colors.

A typical interior design project...

not all steps are needed on every project so they will be tailored to your needs...

A typical design project starts with a consultation with the potential client to determine these things...what the client is wanting to accomplish, what the client's general likes and dislikes are, what the space parameters are, what the anticipated budget will be, and how the client and designer interact with each other.  If there is a good feeling of working together and the client wishes to proceed, I and the client decide on the best method of charge for the project's design fees.  An agreement is drawn up that defines the job and the method of payment. I prepare a space plan to determine what works within the space and client wishes. Then based on the defined product needs of the project, I develop a budget guidance sheet to set a range that I think we will need to plan on for the purchases.  If construction is needed for a remodeling project, the client can bring in a contractor to provide for any structural changes.  Likewise with cabinetry, plumbing and electrical needs.  Once the range of anticipated  furnishing costs are defined and acceptable to the client, the actual selection process begins.  I prepare proposals and present to the client which they sign and provide the deposit to begin the ordering. I schedule and oversee any installations that I provide.  Furniture items may be delivered as they arrive or held in storage and delivered at once, depending on the circumstances.  Once in place, accessorizing can be done to complete the project and the clients begin enjoying the home...and recommending me to all their friends!
